Dr. Gould, a recognized leader in the field of refractive surgery, is Chief Scientific Advisor at Diamond Vision. Trained at Columbia and Harvard University , Dr. Gould was the first eye physician to use implants to correct vision in New York . He also pioneered the use of corneal ablations and incisions to correct vision, paving the way for procedures such as LASIK.
In 1980, Dr. Gould was instrumental in persuading the US Congress to pass a private bill to allow Russian scientist Fyedorov to enter the US and teach the new field of refractive surgery.
Dr. Gould's leadership and pioneering spirit have earned him the respect of his peers, and are evident in his continued work as Founder and President of the New York Keratorefractive Surgery and the New York Intra-Ocular Lens Implant Society. Dr. Gould advises the Diamond Vision medical and surgical team on issues such as new technologies, scientific leadership and long-term strategic planning.
